Clarence (Buddy) Lloyd
As a life-long resident of the Smyrna-Clayton community, I attended the schools in the Smyrna School District, graduating from Smyrna High School in 1970. I attended the University of Delaware where I received my BSBA and a MED degrees. In 1972, I married Keene Boyle from Dover, we were blessed with two children, Clay and Kelly and since four grandchildren. Both families still reside in Smyrna. I was employed by the Smyrna School District and retired after 32 years of service as a Teacher, Coach, Transportation Supervisor, Assistant Principal, High School Principal, and lastly as the Assistant Superintendent. I have an extensive knowledge of the community, and have been involved with the planning and growth of the school district and community over the past twenty years. I have experience handling budgets and, also owned a small business in the community for 15 years. I have been active within the community throughout my life in various capacities. I take great pride being the founder of the Smyrna Little Wrestlers Program, I coached in both the Little League and Little Lass organizations, and volunteered with many community organizations over the years. I still volunteer regularly at the Little League cutting grass and assisting as needed. I have been a member of the DIAA State Wrestling Committee since 2007 and have been the Chair since 2012. I am very proud to say that I was recently inducted into the Delaware Wrestling Hall of Fame.
I am currently serving as a board member for a three-year term until January, 2019. I hope that my knowledge, education, experience, and leadership skills will be helpful to the success and growth of the American Legion Station 64 Ambulance Service so that we will be prepared to serve the future needs of the residents within our community.
